Meet Your Ghost Tour Guide:

Dr. Tamela Williams Smith

Dr. Tamela Williams Smith developed an interest in the paranormal at an early age. For years now, she has researched and explored the supernatural and stories of the unexplained. Her fascination with ghostly phenomena at Western Kentucky University began as a freshman, when she first heard the haunting stories of the campus. While working as a Sergeant with the WKU Police on the midnight and evening shifts, she not only heard stories of paranormal encounters but experienced some spooky things herself!

Dr. Smith gave her first ghost tour of WKU as part of the haunted-themed Homecoming in 2003. Since then, she has led ghost tours on campus every year for groups, classes, and individuals, sharing her extensive knowledge and firsthand experiences with the paranormal.

After retiring from WKU in 2018, Dr. Smith has devoted herself full-time to collecting and documenting stories of supernatural events on campus. She has interviewed over 100 people who have shared their personal accounts of haunting and unexplainable events. Along with these eerie encounters, Dr. Smith has delved into the history of the area, seeking possible explanations for the hauntings.

Dr. Smith is excited to share these fascinating stories with you on her ghost tours. And stay tuned – her upcoming book, compiling all these incredible stories and extensive research, is set to (hopefully!) hit publishers this summer.

Join Dr. Tamela Williams Smith and uncover the chilling secrets of the Hill at WKU!
